Do I Need to Upgrade Memory or Increase Hard Dive Space?
My computer is running unbelievably slow. I have a DSL connection on my HP a1203w desktop. I’ve scanned it for viruses, defragged it, scanned it for adware.. What should I do now?

I need more details, on your task bar, right-click and select Task Manager, then check your process and performance tabs to see the status of computer. then you can decide for next step.

Most likely RAM; upgrade it for a more long-term fix,
or just restart more often to totally clear it out.

usually Pcs start to run slow when they ‘re full, it means when you install alot of applications, try uninstalling programs that you dont use, right click on MY Computer icon, choose services, or manage, then services, and turn off unnecessary services, press ctrl+alt+del, and check which unnecessary processes are running and using the memory, anyway, upgrading the memory is a better way to speed up the PC, better than increasing Hard disk space.
u might have to increase ur space and memory or try to get high speed internet.
Being as you have done everything, defrag, etc.. Then the next thing to do is to go to your task(Windows 98)/manager(Windows XP) start to undo some processes. For some reason application vendors seem to think that a person wants their applications accessable right now. This is what clogs up the computer. As an example I will not let Mocrosft Office load at start up, reason? I do not use it right away and therefore I do not need to have it loaded into memory. You could also go to;
Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information -> Tools -> System Comfiguration Utility -> then go to the "Startup" tab and start un-checking those things you do not need the computer is "Booting" up.
