What Type of Software Engineering?
i’m not sure what career it is that i specifically want to do but here is what i want to do or see myself doing.
-mobile phones/ipods, anything from designing the interface (like htc sense) to game applications
-design new game consoles like xbox, ps3, even computer games
-create facebook applications such as farmvile yoville etc…
-create computer desktop interfaces like hp touchsmart
- interested in creating websites
i apologize if i sound like a total idiot but thats exactly why i am here asking for help. i love technology and see myself in it but i am a total newbie when it comes to this. my high school totally sucked, no electives what so ever just academics so i wasn’t able to dive into computer studies. please help me on what is it that i should specifically learn as in languages, softwares or anything for that matter, what types of classes to take in college, what major should i go for though i do believe its computer science but if i am mistaken let me know and please some texts to read for a total beginner. i plan on self learning until school starts next semester. i am very eager and motivated please please please! thank you ahead of time.

I actually took calc and physics during high school and received great grades.
Bobby Mcgee, maybe you should be more concerned about going back to school and take up critical reading. i clearly stated that i was not able to take such courses during high school and wanted to self-teach before next semester. if you’re not going to help why even bother to reply? someones bored with their life if you need to put someone down just to feel smart, but thanks for the attempt. ?.,;:’" enough punctuation for you?

And when i ask what type of software engineering i mean specifically what kind. embedded systems, system software engineer, applications software engineer, programmer etc.. not sure. i’ve researched what career closely relates to what i want to do and well it lead to software
I wanted to do this kind of stuff as-well. But the truth was I sucked at math and physics which is what most of the courses relating to software engineering are about. Take a programming class and see how it is. Im just saying in my experience talking with university advisors etc, its equivalent to doing a degree in math, because almost all the courses are math related .
Take a basic computer course…..
You don’t start designing phones and games just because you want too.
You have to have the skills to do so first. Seeing as how your spelling and punctuation sucks. You should finish high school, pay attention, then start with the most basic classes and move up.
