reboot the thing! that should close programs that you dont use and start you off fresh
Go to run and type msconfig a window will open go to its last option and disable the softwares that you use rarely. This will decrease the icon on your bottom right of your screen which will make your pc run faster.
some hard drives run all the time up to speed so when you access data it will be fast.
You can go into > Settings, control panel > and set power saving and have your drive shut down after a period of time of your choosing, from a minute or hours.
If the hard drive spools down and data needs to be read or written than it will take a short delay for the drive to spin up to speed again.
if your computer can un a lot of programs thats a good thing. don’t complain about good things. if you know why it ruins the feeling.
You are using more resources than can be loaded onto your ram, you need more ram. Basically ram is where commonly used program data is stored so it can be accessed without spinning the hd. if the hd is spinning all the time, the programs are using stuff that couldn’t be stored on the ram. Switch out your two 512 card for 2 1 gigabyte cards and youll be good to go. might cost you 60 bucks.
